The Cowboys hit the road to head on over to Glenn High School to open up conference play on the season against the Bobcats. The Bobcats are coming off a loss last night to Mallard Creek, while the Cowboys come into tonight looking to stay unbeaten on the season.

Southwest is also looking to push their conference domination rolling. Looking at the last 5 seasons, the Cowboys have gone 48-8 in the Piedmont Triad 4A conference, with their last loss coming in January of 2014.

Glenn came into tonight looking to get their first victory over Southwest since January 2012. Nevertheless, the visiting Cowboys wanted to maintain the momentum going for their 15th straight win of the season. Could the Cowboys do what the Panthers couldn’t?

The Cowboys opened the game up with a steal and a layup just 12 seconds into the game. From there the game became extremely sloppy. Unforced turnovers, sloppy play, and unmotivated led made the game stagnant. The teams traded baskets for the entire quarter. A final basket by the Cowboys closed out the hideous first quarter at 13-11.

The second quarter was a little better for the visitors as they started to actually make their shots and layup as they began to put some things together getting up 26-13 on a pretty alley-oop dunk. The margin hit its peak for the half at 30-15, but the Bobcats responded with a quick 8-0 run to cut the margin to 30-23 with 1:15 to play in the half. Southwest responded by closing out the half better to make the score 36-25 headed into the break.

The second half was still sloppy but once again the Cowboys managed to push the margin out to 50-30. Yet again the Bobcats took advantage of the lackadaisical Cowboys to rally out the frame to 57-41.

The final frame was still discombobulated, but the quickness and teamwork of the Cowboys proved to be just too much for the Bobcats as the Cowboys held on for the 76-59 road conference win.

Southwest remains unbeaten at 15-0 on the season. Glenn was led by Toby Brown with 19. Southwest was led by Kameron Langley (21, 13 Rebs, 4 Stls, 3 Asts), Kobe Langley (14, 7 Rebs, 9 Stls, 5 Blks), and Orlando Smith with (14, 4 Rebs, 3 Asts, 2 Stls).
