GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford came out with a very lackluster performance against the Page Pirates during the first half but was still able to grind out a 74-66 non-conference victory. The Pirates played inspired basketball and forced the Vikings into some situations that required a heightened level of focus from Northwest. The 3rd quarter proved to be crucial as the Vikings extended their halftime lead to double digits and were able to make just enough free throws down the stretch to preserve the win.
–Tre Turner led Northwest with 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Jalen Spicer contributed 12 points and 6 assists while Riley Edwards finished with 9 points on three huge 3rd quarter three point baskets which sparked the Vikings.
–Jaylen Gore chipped in with 9 points to go along with his 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Thomas Hennigan scored 9 points and pulled down 5 rebounds for Northwest.
–Diondre Overton and Tylan Tatum led Pirate’s effort with 17 points each.
