Thomasville, NC – –

This afternoon the Ragsdale Tigers made the trip to Thomasville to take on the Bulldogs in an MLK Day matinee. The Tigers were looking to rebound after a hard-fought loss Friday night to conference foe High Point Central. The Bulldogs come into today’s game winners of six consecutive games.

Utilizing a variety of swarming, pressure defenses, the Tigers would come out of the gates racing to an early 14-3 lead and would lead 16-9 after the opening period. The Bulldogs would slowly chip away at the beginning of the 2nd quarter, but another spurt by the Tigers, including a deep three pointer from Greyson Collins that just beat the buzzer, would push the Ragsdale halftime advantage back to double figures by the score of 29-17. The 2nd half was more of the same for Ragsdale, as they were able to get stops defensively and were efficient offensively and able to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the remainder of the game. Ragsdale would go on to get the win on the road by the final score of 66-46 to end Thomasville’s winning streak, and grab their 10th win of the season.

Ragsdale placed three players in double figure scoring; led by Juniors Kyle Watkins (game-high 22 points, 7 rebounds) and Greyson Collins (10 points, 6 assists) and Jarious Drayton (10 points, 4 assists). Jahare Taylor-Thomas led the Bulldogs with 19 points on the afternoon.

Ragsdale improves to 10 – 6 overall. Thomasville drops to 9 – 4 overall.
