Local coach has passed on:Father of Lindsay(“Boo Cat”) and Michael Foster has left a big void

You can tell that a person meant a lot by the way that they are remembered and you have to say it is a sad day for many local baseball players and other athletes today, with the passing of Lindsay “Boo Cat” Foster and Michael Foster’s dad…

From what we have been able to learn, Mr. Foster passed away earlier today and he was the backbone behind the games you saw back in the day from “Boo Cat” Foster in baseball and basketball and from Michael Foster in basketball…

“Boo Cat” and Michael both were star athletes at Page High School and then “Boo Cat” went on to play pro baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and Michael became the starting point guard for the South Carolina Gamecocks…

Mr. Foster coached both of those young men when they were just kids and made them what the were and became in high school and later on in college and in the pros….And both Lindsay and Michael Foster are where they are today due to the guidance and leadership of their dad….

We remember Mr. Foster here today and here is just one example of what people are saying at the time of his passing….

Coach Randy Norris-Baseball Coach at High Point Andrews High School and former assistant coach for the Page Pirates:

It’s with a heavy heart to let you know my best Friend’s Dad passed away today, Mr. Foster…

Lets keep him and his family in our prayers. Tough day today as my other dad has gone home. May God bless his family. Coach Randy Norris….

  1. Very sad to hear of this. Boocat and I grew up together playing sports and hanging on the weekends. Mr. Foster was a great man and will be missed.

    Thank you for sharing, Andy.
