Kernersville, NC – –

After over a week off from game action due to “Winter Storm Jonas”, the Tigers of Ragsdale High School were back at it tonight against conference foe Glenn High School. Last night, the Bobcats got back into game action with a riveting come from behind win over East Forsyth on the road.

In tonight’s game, the visiting Tigers would take an early first quarter lead thanks to balance offensively and getting stops on the defensive end. However, Glenn then got it going offensively late in the first quarter, and take a 3 point lead after the first period. The second quarter was marked by sloppy play by both squads, as the defenses for both teams were imposing its will and making it very difficult to score the basketball. The Bobcats would take a slim 3 point lead into the halftime break. The third quarter was a foul fest for Ragsdale, as the Tigers picked up 9 fouls in the quarter. Even amongst the foul trouble, the Tigers were still able to get defensive stops in the half court, which were leading to transition opportunities, and late in the 3rd quarter the Tigers’ half court offense would begin clicking again. Ragsdale doubled their first half output in the third quarter alone. A three pointer from the right wing by Nick Coleman just before the buzzer to end the quarter would give the Tigers a 48-45 lead going into the final period; a lead Ragsdale would never relinquish. The Tigers forced multiple Bobcats turnovers in the final period and closed the game with a great sense of urgency to come away with a much needed conference win on the road, by the final score of 74-58.

Ragsdale placed four players in double figure scoring on the night. Leading the way for the Tigers was a trio of Juniors in Kyle Watkins (24 points, 10 rebounds), Greyson Collins (15 points) and Nick Coleman (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Senior Mason Clement (10 points). Josh Daniels led the Bobcats with 12 points on the evening.
