Kernersville, NC – –

Both the Tigers of Ragsdale and the Eagles of East Forsyth were coming into tonight’s game off losses to conference rivals. The two squads were looking to get out of a tie at the bottom of the conference standings and position themselves for a run towards a higher seed in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference standings.

In the early going, the visiting Tigers would stake to an early first quarter lead of 11-4 after the first three minutes of play. The Eagles would promptly respond with a 17-2 run to finish the period with a 21-13 lead. The 2nd quarter started out much the same for the home standing Eagles, and it looked as if the rout was on. East Forsyth would go into the halftime break with a 35-19 lead

The Tigers would come out of the break on fire from the field. Ragsdale would hit six 3-point field goals in the frame. However, in order to make a comeback you must also get stops defensively. Unfortunately for Ragsdale on this night, their defense could not get stops with any consistency. Even with the long range bombs, the deficit was still at 13 points going into the final period. Ragsdale would get as close as 9 points in the 4th quarter, as East Forsyth would eventually run away with an important conference win by the final score of 81-65.

Ragsdale was led by Elijah Joyner scoring a game-high (and his career high) 24 points. Jordan Roberson led the Eagles with 23 points on the evening.

Ragsdale drops to 11 – 10 overall and 1 – 6 in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference. East Forsyth improves to 7 – 12 overall and 2 – 5 in the conference.
