Jamestown, NC – –

The Bobcats of Glenn High School come into tonight’s game winners in three of their past four games, all in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference. This streak has put the Bobcats alone in third place in the league standings. Unfortunately for the Ragsdale Tigers, they come into tonight’s game having dropped four of their previous five conference games to drop into a tie for fifth place in the standings. The regular season finale tonight would help provide momentum for one of these teams going into the conference tournament next week.

In tonight’s game, the Tigers would take a commanding lead right off the jump, going up 18-0 to start the game. The Bobcats first points came off two free throws with just under two minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. At the end of one period, Ragsdale lead 24-6. Glenn would recover in the 2nd quarter and outscore Ragsdale, but the Tigers would still hold a 35-24 lead at halftime. The 3rd quarter was back and forth, with the Tigers getting balanced scoring and were up 54-39 going into the final frame. In the final quarter, the Bobcats forced a number of Tigers turnovers and turned them into a number of easy baskets. Glenn outscored Ragsdale by nine points in the quarter, but the deficit was too large to overcome as Ragsdale would come away with a big conference win at home by the final score of 78-72. Ragsdale would set a new school record with 14 made 3-point field goals on the night.

Ragsdale placed four players in double figure scoring on the night. Leading the way for the Tigers were a trio of Juniors in Kyle Watkins (25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists), Greyson Collins (18 points, 7 rebounds), and Brian Free (12 points, 3 assists) and Senior Mason Clement (10 points). Khyre Thompson and Chrishaun Lindsey led the Bobcats, both with 23 points on the evening.
