College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford 10th After First Day of ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team is in 10th place after the opening day of competition at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Defending meet champion Washington and Lee University grabbed the early advantage in the 10-team meet with 300.50 points after nine events. Emory & Henry College is in second place with 194 points. Guilford collected all of its points from the 400-yard medley relay and has 22 points.

The Quakers qualified for the A final in the 400 medley relay with a time of five minutes, 16.09 seconds in Friday morning’s preliminaries. The team of Kate Nunke, Isabel Gutierrez, Nina Troy and Veronica O’Neill touched the wall in 5:09.30 Friday night to finish eighth and claim the 22 points.
Guilford’s other results from Friday’s preliminaries include Nunke’s time of 6:52.36 that placed 25th in the 500 freestyle. Troy placed 22nd in the 200 individual medley in 2:51.32. O’Neill placed 36th in the 50 free style in 34.81, three spots ahead of teammate Peri Thomson (41.28).

The second day of competition begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with preliminary races at the Aquatic
