College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Claims 10th at ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team placed 10th in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships, which concluded Sunday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Quakers compiled 76 points.

Washington and Lee University claimed its record 26th league championship with 1030.5 points, well in front of second-place Emory & Henry College (668) and Randolph-Macon College (524.5). Bridgewater College (294) and Greensboro College (181) rounded out the top five.

The Quakers’ 400-yard freestyle relay team scored the team’s lone points Sunday with a 10th-place finish. The team of Isabel Gutierrez, Veronica O’Neill, Kate Nunke and Nina Troy hit the wall in four minutes, 37.28 seconds.

Guilford’s other competitors Sunday all swam the 100 freestyle. Troy had the top time, 1:06.81, good for 20th place. Teammates Veronica O’Neill (1:18.79) and Peri Thomson (2:09.44) finished 23rd and 26th, respectively in the same race.

The meet concludes the season for coach Amanda Fontenot’s Quakers.

    Also, believe someone made the qualifying time to
    go to NCAA Championship.
