MAYO COMPLETES FIRST SEASON AT GUILFORD

Greensboro, N.C. – Freshman Trevor Mayo (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day School) recently completed his first season with the Guilford College men’s basketball team.

Mayo, a 6-3 forward, started in 21 of the Quakers’ 26 games this season. He averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. The freshman finished tied-second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in steals with 1.8 per game and ranked third on the team in scoring. He broke Guilford’s single-game steals record February 7 versus Bridgewater College with nine. Mayo scored in double figures nine times this year, including a season-high 18 points against Greensboro College November 17.

Coach Tom Palombo’s Quakers finished with a 16-10 overall record, 11-5 in the ODAC. The Quakers expect as many as 13 letter winners back in 2016-17, including Mayo.
