Josh Tobias(Southeast Guilford HS/Florida) is with the Lakewood BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League…Phillies affiliates
Josh for 2016 9 games/13-36/.361 AVG./4 Doubles/1 HR/7 RBI/3 Runs…Josh is playing second base for LWD…

Blake Butler(Southeast Guilford HS/College of Charleston) is with the Daytona Tortugas in the Florida State League which is High Class A baseball…Reds affiliates.
Blake for 2016 has gone 8-29 in 8 games/.276 AVG./2 Doubles/1 HR/5 RBI…Blake is playing second base for the Tortugas…

Corey Kimber(Dudley HS) is still in the San Diego Padres system and he continues to come back after Tommy John’s surgery…Corey was with the Tri-City Dust Devils last year in the Northwest League and he earned 4 saves in 24 2/3’s Innings of work with 12 BB/25 K’s….Corey is awaiting assignment for this season…

Eric Kimber(Dudley HS), Corey Kimber’s older brother, was in the KC Royals system last season as a pitcher and had a 4.60 ERA., throwing 11 Innings in the Arizona Rookie League for 2015 and Eric is waiting to see where he will be placed for 2016….

Other guys we might see soon include Hunter Ridge(Southwestern Randolph HS/UNCW) who was headed to the Independent Leagues last check-in we had with him and Michael Dimock(Wesleyan Christian Academy/Wake Forest) who is in the San Diego Padres system and worked as high as Triple A last season as a pitcher and he should be on a roster in the next 2 weeks or so….

*****+++++In the Majors with the Padres and doing good is Wil Myers(Wesleyan Christian Academy) with 11 games/9-42/.214 AVG./1 Double/2 HR’s/3 RBI/4 Runs…..*****+++++(I would say Wil is doing good, because he is still doing what he is doing at the top level.)

+++++Dallas Newton(Southeast Guilford HS) is still on the roster for the Missoula Osprey and this Arizona Diamondbacks’ team will begin play on June 17th…Dallas is a pitcher and last season he went 2-3/6.85 ERA/18 Games/7 Starts/44 2/3’S Innings/42 Runs/34 Earned/55 Hits/21 BB’s/30 K’s…Dallas with the Osprey last season….+++++

$$$$$Also in the Majors from our area is Ryan Dull(East Forsyth HS/UNC-Asheville) now with the Oakland Athletics(A’s) as a relief pitcher and he has turned to be a good one in early 2016….So far from the bullpen for Ryan Dull(5’9/175) he appeared in 7 games/7 1/3 Innings/0 Runs/0 Hits/1 HBP/0 BB’s/9 K’s….And all of this coming from a 32nd Round Draft pick who stands 5’9 and weighs 175..More power to Ryan Dull and keep up the good work…$$$$$

More money…Wil Myers salary =’s $523,900 per season….Ryan Dull’s salary =’s $507,500 per season and it looks like both of these young men are doing OK….
+++++Add in a little contrast and here is P.J. Hairston’s salary for this season..$1,201,440….P.J., formerly of the Dudley HS Panthers, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Charlotte Hornets and now with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies….+++++Some interesting looks at what the local players are making these days….+++++
