She comes to Northwest High with a vast amount of volleyball coaching experience at Greensboro College, High Point University, and Scotland County High School. 2. Great sports family with the mom Evelyn Dorn pro golfer, husband Mike baseball and basketball at Western Guilford and at High Point College, brother Johnny Dorn excellent golfer and not a bad basketball player in his younger days, sister Evelyn was a super basketball player, track, volleyball star and golfer and now deceased and she had son Scooter Michael baseball pitcher and daughter Kim Michael basketball player and there are the two sons for Nancy that play college baseball now in Duncan and Colson and like we say here, this is one whale of a sports family and I saw them all play at one time or another and they had it, they had the/a gift for sports/athletics..

It seemed to be in their blood…I still remember Mike when he was a pitcher himself back in the day and he was also Jerry Steele’s right hand man as an assistant basketball coach at High Point for many years and Mike even looked like Jerry Steele over there on the bench..

I do remember Nancy as a volleyball player back in her younger day and she had that gift for athletics too….All In The Family, I guess, but they have it…

  3. Very proud of my sis! She is a natural born leader and will be a great success! Thanks for the nice words in your comment Andy. Congrats Nancy!!
