After a long week of rain and postponements, the Metro 4A baseball championship game was finally under way. The match-up pegged the #1 seeded Southeast Guilford Falcons versus the #2 seeded Southern Alamance Patriots. The game ended up being a low scoring pitchers duel with the Patriots coming out on top 3-0

Chris Schiebly got the nod for the Falcons after a long stint on the disabled list. The Patriots started out with two back to back singles by Greensboro College commits Brayden King and Hunter Curtis. After a failed bunt attempt, Chayce Aldridge loaded the bases with a single to left. However, the Patriots only got one run off of a sacrifice fly from Ryan Ellington leaving two runners stranded.

The Patriots starter, Brayden King, pitched a gem only giving up one hit through four innings. King got many of the Southeast hitters to hit pop-ups resulting in easy outs for the Patriots as he also struck-out two Falcon batters.

Schiebly lasted only one inning when Austin Coble came in to start off the second inning. Coble pitched four fantastic innings for the Falcons giving up only two hits, striking out three and walking three.

Southern Alamance got things going again in the top of the seventh. After a lead off triple by King, the Patriots plated two more runs thanks in part to a Chayce Aldridge double.

In the bottom half of the inning the Falcons again struggled to get anything going off of Tyler Ceperano who came on to get a nine out save. Forrest Brothers was the only player for Southeast to record a hit.
