    RALEIGH, N.C. — An Enloe High School football player is recovering after a scary injury during a 7-on-7 competition on Wednesday evening.

    E.J. Clemons was transported to WakeMed after a collision with an Athens Drive High School football player during a 7-on-7 at West Johnston High School. Medical staff responded immediately and called 9-1-1.

    Clemons was transported by ambulance to WakeMed.

    After undergoing tests and scans, doctors determined Clemons did not have any damage to his spine or neck, according to the family. He was diagnosed with a concussion though and will have to follow the return to play protocol before he can participate in football activities.
