Gus Mota Announces 2016 Pride Women’s Soccer Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s soccer team will open its season Sept.1 on Pride Field against Hollins University, Head Coach Gus Mota said Tuesday in announcing the team’s 2016 schedule.
“We are extremely excited about our 2016 season as we have a challenging non-conference schedule to help prepare us for our USA South slate,” Mota said. “Playing multiple weekends with back-to-back games, we must be prepared physically. With our strong group of returners, along with our newcomers, we are looking forward to the preparation it will take for such a challenging slate.”
Following the season opener, the Pride will host Sweet Briar College, Warren Wilson College, and Emory & Henry University before welcoming the Cougars of Averett University to Pride Field Sept. 17 to open USA South Athletic Conference play.
As the season progresses, the Pride will square off twice with conference foes Meredith College, William Peace University, Mary Baldwin College, Ferrum College, N.C. Wesleyan College, and Methodist University and will have one more matchup with Averett.
The Pride women will face conference opponents in their final 16 games, along with non-conference foes Guilford College and Columbia International University.
