  1. I hate to get on a rant, but why in the world would one team get three straight games at home in the playoffs..

That doesn’t sound or look right, but I am taking it as that is how it is…

The Post 53 Greensboro Red Wings per chance now would never have ONE home game in the playoffs, is that correct?????

Maybe I am missing something, but weren’t the Sunday and Monday games at Finch Field and now the Tuesday game is there too??? That does not make any sense at all, but if that is they way they drew it up, I guess you have to play it that way…

Sure makes it tough on the Greensboro crowd to have to drive over to Finch three days in a-row…

I have never seen a Best-of-Five go three straight at the higher seed’s home field and then back to the lower seeded team’s place…

For sure Post 87 is the #1 seed in the playoffs and this rant is not against their team, but whoever drew up this playoff system, something is messed up here…

It might have been that Caldwell Academy could not provide accommodations for this game and if that is the case, then I might be off base here, but,

I would have talked to Western Guilford or Guilford College and if I had to play at 4pm I would have played at 4pm to get the home game…

When it is my home game you come to me…

Not sure how this all came about, but first reaction is, It is Crazy, and I said the same thing last week when we looking at the deal with Winston-Salem…

Final run and I better run and try to get some more work done, to me it is not a legitimate or fair series unless both teams have at least one home game in something like a Best-of-Five Series…

As they used to say back in the day, maybe Post 53 is just playing “out the string”, but I don’t believe that…

In this Best-of-Five without at least one home game, how can you say the Series was fair????

There may be other circumstances beyond both teams control and if so I am wrong, but I have this crazy gut feeling that I am right on the money…

I would have played this game at 5pm at Proehlific Park to get a home game in and with the three hour light window, they would have got the game in just past 8pm and there is no call for rain today, right???

For both teams have a good game, and here is another thought, will the Post 53 Red Wings be the home team on the other guy’s/team’s field tonight???

You might be able to hang with that in the regular season, but not in the playoffs…

    Game on, I guess…..

Post 53 has their work cut for them today, down 2-0 on the opponent’s turf and like I said earlier/before, the Post 87 HiToms are a very good team….

Here is my closer, the Greensboro team should be playing this game on a Greensboro field….

  2. Last check, it was Post 87 HiToms 6, Post 53 Red Wings 1 after 3 complete at Finch Field…

  3. HiToms run away with the game, winning 11-1 in 7 Innings…at Finch Field in Thomasville…

  4. A very good job by Coach Dale Moser and the Red Wings this year and they should be even stronger in 2017 with a year of work as a American Legion Baseball under their belts…

If keeping the games at Finch Field worked better for the Red Wings as they were closing out the year, that is not a bad thing…You have to do what you have to, to get the job done and the Red Wings were there for the finish and it probably worked better for them financially to get those games in, in Thomasville, because it is not cheap to run playoff games with the extra umpire(#3) and the other fees…

Again you have to tip you cap to Dale Moser and the job the team did this year in their first year out of the gates and if it were me I would have still played this game in Bob Sublett’s old backyard up in Brookville, Virginia, if I could, but that is just me…

Good Job Red Wings in 2016…

Good job Post 53 and we will look for the Burtner brothers to be stepping up here next season too…

  5. To share info Andy on your insight on home field. Being the RedWings r under the Hi Toms umbrella it was my understanding it was agreed that games would be played at Finch switching home and visitor. Caldwell wasn’t being used for free , so that made most sense. Finch is just as close as some of the players had to drive to Caldwell. Not sure playing in Greensboro would have mattered , it was obvious the best team won. As well 90% of Hi Toms starting line up are kids from Guilford County schools public or private, just like Redwings .

Shoutout to a classy group of players and coaches of Post 87.

  6. We have to stick to our Comment Creed….

Personal attacks on players, coaches, parents or school officials will not be tolerated.

All comments are reviewed. We will close comments when things get out of hand or when we can not properly monitor them.

Not on here to be cracking on our coaches or team officials…

We can all move on now and get ready for the Finals of the Area III Playoffs with Post 87 looking to lock up with Rowan County…

Good luck to all of the kids with Post 87 and especially the ones from Guilford County…
