Kernersville used a three run homer from Blake Deatherage to advance to the next round of the Carolina Virginia League tournament in Mooresville in a 5-3 win.

Dillon Hardy and Braxton Shetley combined to limit the FV Twins powerful bats to three hits on the day. Hardy picked up his fifth win of the year and Shetley picked up his league leading seventh save of the summer…

Dawnoven Smith and CJ Needam picked up the other rbi hits for Kernersville. Kernersville will play the Lenoir Oilers at 4PM Friday as the double elimination tourney continues through Sunday at Moor Park in Morresville.

In opening night ceremonies Randy Norris was announced as team MVP of Kernersville a finalist for the League Player of the Year. Norris currently leads the league with 37 stolen bases and in hits with 69. he has scores 39 runs and knocked in 33 runs. Selection will be at the conclusion of the tourney…
