Josh Williams, former Guilford College Quakers’ runningback and with The JANESH Blog, checks in with Mount Tabor Spartans head coach, Raymond Marshall…..
+++++Mount Tabor will be at the Northeast Guilford football scrimmage next Tuesday evening, on Hicone Road.+++++

*****” I did some research on the state of the land as football season begins to take center stage. I got in touch with Coach Raymond Marshall with Mount Tabor. I picked his brain about how his team has been doing through off season and some things we can expect. Here’s what he had to say.*****

Josh Williams: How has summer camp concluded for your team?

Coach Marshall: We have a had a good summer and good offseason overall. The challenge moving forward, of course, is to translate all the hard work we have done into wins on the game field on Friday night. In order to make that transition we have to have an outstanding training camp.

Josh Williams: What are some things that we can expect to see from your team this year?

Coach Marshall: I’ve been around long enough to know better than to make predictions. The game of football is like life–you can never accurately predict exactly what will happen. Right now our focus is on getting better in practice every day.

Josh Williams: Who are some stars on your team that we should keep an eye out for?

Coach Marshall: Daquon Mason is one of the best players I have ever coached. Hes already a two-year starter at strong safety. This season he is making the transition to running back. Also keep an eye on TE Blake Whitehart who is a division I prospect. Center Sam Scheipers is the heart and soul of our offensive line. On defense DE/LB Diavonte Chappell leads and fast and athletic group. He was ll conference last season. DB Eli Banks and DJ Morgan are also returning starters expected to make a big impact.”
