GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky will help show support and appreciation to military members and their families during the PGA TOUR’s 2016 Wyndham Championship by sponsoring the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost presented by Glenmorangie, the PGA TOUR announced today.
Birdies for the Brave Patriot’s Outpost is a 40-foot by 40-foot, open-air, military-exclusive hospitality chalet with a fenced-in patio located between the 10th and 18th fairways at Sedgefield Country Club. From Thursday, Aug. 18 – Sunday, Aug. 21, the Outpost will provide military guests with complimentary food and beverages, premium views of the tournament action and an opportunity to share camaraderie with other military members.

“We are thrilled to work in partnership with Birdies for the Brave and the PGA TOUR to express our sincere gratitude to military members and their families,” said Moet Hennessy USA Brand Director for Glenmorangie Maxime Balay. “It’s the very least we can do for those who selflessly put their lives on the line every day to ensure our freedom and keep us safe.”

Active duty and Reserve military members, members of the National Guard, military retirees and veterans can enjoy up to two complimentary tickets each day by visiting

https://birdiesforthebrave2.sheerid.com/wyndham-2016/, having their military status verified by SheerID, and downloading military tickets. Although the tickets are complimentary, a verification fee of $1 is required for each ticket downloaded. Upon arrival at the gate, military guests will be required to present a photo ID or military ID along with the military tickets.

In addition to the complimentary tickets and hospitality, the tournament will host a variety of other military outreach and appreciation activities. On Monday, two local wounded heroes will have the opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom Callaway golf clubs as part of the Callaway Warrior Club Fitting program. On Saturday and Sunday, Glenmorangie will make a donation to Birdies for the Brave for every birdie and eagle made by PGA TOUR players on the par-five 15th hole at Sedgefield Country Club as part of the Birdies & Eagles Hole presented by Glenmorangie. The program is the last of three Birdies & Eagles Holes presented by Glenmorangie that will raise funds for military charities during the 2016 PGA TOUR season.

Glenmorangie-sponsored military outreach activities will culminate with a military appreciation ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 20, featuring military pageantry, a variety of guest speakers, and a check presentation by Glenmorangie to Birdies for the Brave based on the total funds raised for military Homefront charities as a result of the Birdies & Eagles Hole program during the 2016 season.

Birdies for the Brave was originally created in 2006 by PGA TOUR player Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, to support combat-wounded veterans. The TOUR subsequently adopted Birdies for the Brave and expanded it to include a variety of military appreciation and engagement programs during tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and Web.com Tour, along with a series of golf-centric fundraising events held at the TOUR’s TPCs nationwide – an effort that has raised more than $15 million for non-profit military Homefront groups that provide critical programs and services for military families and wounded heroes.
