GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lorenzo Rodriguez has been added to the Greensboro College women’s soccer coaching staff, Head Coach Gus Mota announced Wednesday.

“I am extremely excited to have Lorenzo on staff,” Mota said. “He brings a wide range of experience to our program. He has done a tremendous job of developing players to play at the next level.

“Lorenzo and I will work side by side in all duties of our program, and he is an excellent recruiter with a great eye for talent.”

Rodriguez comes to Greensboro College from Olean High School, in Olean, N.Y., where he served as an assistant coach for the varsity boys team. During his tenure with Olean, Rodriguez took over the duties of developing players for the school’s modified team.

“I am extremely excited for this opportunity to join forces with Gus and the Greensboro College women’s soccer program,” Rodriguez said. “Coach Mota is an excellent coach with a phenomenal understanding of the game and is extremely passionate about building this program to be a top competitor in the USA South.

“I cannot wait to get going with the team, and I could not have asked for a better mentor and partner to start my collegiate coaching career.”

Rodriguez also brings a wealth of club team experience to the Pride as well. Rodriguez served as the head coach for the Under-17 Enchanted Mountain Soccer Club boys team , leading the team to the first undefeated league record in league history and winning the Southern Tier Travel Soccer League championship.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Rodriguez was a member of the Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College men’s soccer team, where he led his team to a conference title in 2009.

Off the field, Rodriguez spent time as an intern with the Western New York Flash and the Rochester Rhinos.
