Southeast Guilford Football Scrimmage vs. Asheboro at Eastern Randolph Wildcat Jamboree

Southeast Guilford vs. Asheboro in a 20-minute LIVE game situation and the Falcons out-scored Asheboro 6-0 and drove down for touchdowns two times on the Asheboro defense and SEG was able to get into the end zone one time and on the possession where they pushed the football down to the 10-yard line, the Falcons got picked off by the A’boro Blue Comets…

Was very impressed with the SEG Falcon defense, as they gave Asheboro very few offensive plays during these four-and-out, get-a-first-down or get-off-the-field game situations and the SEG offense stayed on the field the majority of the game and kept possession of the ball and SEG was passing the ball more than I have ever seen them throw it…Short out-passes to the backs and passes upfield to the WR’s and SEG was moving the football behind both of their QB’s, senior Tavaris Best and sophomore Ryan Douglas who pretty much saw equal time in the gun and the SEG offense was working from a spread and they had just one back in the game most of the time, along with the QB…

Very good looks from SEG and our video story is down below and we will have our Five Questions with Coach Fritz to follow…Coach Fritz had his men ready today and if you are not ready to play football at SEG and if you are not focused on your game, you better get ready in a hurry…This team will not allow for non-preparation and mental mistakes will be handled and you do not want to go there….

I like the readiness of this Falcon team today and they have kids that can make big plays and be key playmakers and game changers and that is what it takes and even those kids must be ready too when they hit the game field and SEG will be ready….

*****/+++++We were able to spend a little more time on this post since we only had one game today and the details may appear more forthcoming than on some of previous stops….+++++/*****

Video on the way….We are taking you through the team getting ready to scrimmage Asheboro with the warm-us, the pre-game talk and then on to the field…Sort of telling the Game Story in video….This might be an award-winning presentation, you never know, so follow the video….

Nice pass completion by SEG’s QB Best shooting/tossing the ball up field here…..

Straight hand-off power running, nothing fancy here…

Nice swing-pass by Douglas and good positive yards for the Falcons…

More good power-running from SEG…

Pick-play halts SEG’s first drive to the End Zone…

The SEG Falcons hit paydirt here…

SEG will be working on those X-tra point kicks on Monday and maybe even on Sunday, in preparation for next Friday…

Last play of the game and Asheoboro comes up empty vs. the SEG Falcon Defense…

The Five Questions with Southeast Guilford Falcons’ head coach Fritz Hessenthaler…..

1)The player on your team that reminds you the most of you?
Evan Surgeon…OL/DL
2)The record for 2016, what does it realistically need to be??
Pro-(11-0)/Con-(0-11)
3)If you weren’t coaching football this Summer, what would you be doing???
Baling Hay…Round bales and Square bales and getting the hay to the barn, while working on the farm…..
4)Put the ball in whose hands and say, “You must lead us”????
Tavaris Best as our QB/Slot Back/Punt Returner/Z Back…
5)More than any game on your schedule, and any team on your schedule, you have to/want to beat?????
West Charlotte…We have to beat West Charlotte, the first team on our schedule and that game will set the tone for entire season…..

  1. Southeast looked pretty good. Ryan Douglas is going to have a nice career.

Who was #7 for them? He looked pretty impressive as well.

  2. Hard to tell who #7 was, SEG wearing practice jerseys on Saturday, not with game #’s…Douglas was wearing #33 and Best wore #5 and for sure not game numbers….

I think Myles Fairley was wearing #22 on Saturday and he is going to be a good one too….
