High Point men’s soccer earns 1-1 draw in exhibition at No. 3 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The High Point University men’s soccer team picked up a 1-1 draw at No. 3 Clemson on Tuesday night in Clemson, S.C. The exhibition match was the first of two for the Panthers this preseason.

High Point fell behind in the 26th minute on goal by the Tiger’s Alex Happi. Two newcomers combined to tie the game for HPU in the 44th minute when freshman Connor Cesar found fellow freshman Siggi Benonysson with a cross and the Icelandic national finished to knot the game at 1-1.

High Point will next return home for its second of two exhibition games as the Panthers will host Appalachian State on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
