GREENSBORO, N.C. – Reggie Hines has been added to the Greensboro College women’s basketball staff, Head Coach Randy Tuggle announced Friday.

“We are excited to add Reggie to our program,” Tuggle said. “He brings experience and passion, and will be ready to place his mark on the team.

“I think we are very fortunate to get someone with so much knowledge and so many connections in the game of basketball. I look forward to working with him, and I believe the players will, too.”

Hines brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Pride. He was the Head Assistant Coach at Guilford Technical Community College in its inaugural season, helping lead that team to a Region 10 championship.

“I am very excited to join the Greensboro College women’s basketball staff,” Hines said. “The future of the program is bright, and I am so proud to be a part of it.

“I would like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity, and also thank Coach Tuggle for believing in me.”

In addition to his coaching responsibilities with the GTCC Titans, Hines served as recruiting coordinator, while also overseeing the guards and strength training.

Hines also coached eight seasons with the North Carolina Lady Phoenix, one of the nation’s top girls AAU traveling programs. Prior to joining the Phoenix staff as a coach, Hines spent six season with Greensboro Lady Gators, while also coaching at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, N.C.

Hines is known for his up-tempo offense and pressure defense, a philosophy he learned from his mentor, the late coach Norvel T. Lee.

In addition to his team coaching experience, Hines has also served as a staff member at five-star basketball camps at Duke, Wake Forest, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Hines, a native of Goldsboro, N.C., lives in Greensboro with his wife, Nedra.
