“I am very proud of the grit this team showed, pushing through the fatigue and difficult field positions today,” head coach Marty Beall said. “We had a slow first half and Ohio had the better of the play int he first 45 minutes, but in the second half I thought we came out and played fantastically to come back for the win.”

With the minutes ticking down and the Panthers trailing by a goal, sophomore Callyn Loughrey got her foot onto a ball in the box and scored her first collegiate goal to even the score at 1-1 in the 85th minute. The contest moved into overtime where High Point was awarded a penalty kick after Beattie was brought down in the box in the 95th minute. Redshirt-senior Kelsey Perrell> stepped to the spot and beat the Ohio keeper with a shot to the lower right corner, giving HPU the 2-1 overtime victory.
