ELON, N.C. – Elon University will implement a new checked bag policy at all home football games for the 2016 season. The policy is to provide a safer environment for the public and will be in effect at this Saturday’s opener against Gardner-Webb.

Fans can carry any bag in to Rhodes Stadium, but all bags will be searched prior to reaching the gates of the facility. Lines will form prior to reaching the ticket booths at Rhodes Stadium and multiple lines will be available, including specific lines for fans entering with no bags. Bags will also be checked at the Elon student entrance.

There are no provisions to check items at the gates. Fans will be asked to either take prohibited items back to their car or dispose of them at the gate. Elon University and the Athetics department are not responsible for items left behind, lost, stolen or damaged.

The following is a list of items prohibited at Rhodes Stadium:
• Weapons
• Explosives
• Alcoholic beverages
• Artificial noisemakers
• Outside food and beverages
• Smoking and tobacco products
• E-cigarettes
• Umbrellas
• Containers or coolers
• Flags on poles
• Bicycles, skateboards or rollerblades
• Pets (except service animals)

The gates to Rhodes Stadium will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Bag check will begin at the same time.
