Women’s Soccer Steams Past Vixens

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Meredith Priest and Mercedes Fisher each scored a hat trick as the Greensboro College women’s soccer team scorched Sweet Briar College Sunday, 13-0.

Priest gave Greensboro a 3-0 lead just 14 minutes in before Laure Greeson, who tallied two goals, extended the Pride margin to four goals.

As the half progressed, Anna Rae Procelli tallied two times, while Fisher and Greeson sent the Pride into halftime with an 8-0 lead.

Samantha Lopez and Fisher each scored two goals in the second half, while Caitlyn Cook accounted for one goal.

Greeson finished with a team-high three assists. Briana Huber and Priest had one assist each. Brittany Morrison picked up her second win of the season in goal for Greensboro.

“I was really happy with the way our team moved the ball around today,” Head Coach Gus Mota said. “It is really important that we keep this intensity up as we move along in the season.
