First Home game of the season for the Grimsley Whirlies and when the game was over the Grimsley football team hit the home stands there at Jamieson Stadium and joined the Whirlie students in celebration, as Grimssley gained their first home win of the year, in their first home game, 27-6 over Raleigh Athens Drive…Grimsley first-year coach Darryl Brown told his players he wants to see those victorious visits to the Whirlie’ stands after the game become a regular thing/routine and with more wins, the students and the players might begin to see a lot of each other, in the stands, after the football games at Grimsley, in the future

+++++Grimsley’s Brelin Faison-Walden played more on offense tonight than he did on defense and Coach Darryl Brown said you might see that more times this season, but it will depend on the opponent and it will depend on the game situations….We will have an interview with Coach Darryl Brown up here in the morning and hope to get some further stats as well….+++++

$$$$$ Pretty good crowd with lots of students on the Grimsley side on this Labor Day Monday night and I would guess there might have been 50 fans that made the trip from Raleigh, to see Athens Drive play Grimsley this evening…..$$$$$
