Grimsley Whirlies top Raleigh Athens Drive to make/take a stand at Home in Jamieson Stadium

First Home game of the season for the Grimsley Whirlies and when the game was over the Grimsley football team hit the home stands there at Jamieson Stadium and joined the Whirlie students in celebration, as Grimssley gained their first home win of the year, in their first home game, 27-6 over Raleigh Athens Drive…Grimsley first-year coach Darryl Brown told his players he wants to see those victorious visits to the Whirlie’ stands after the game become a regular thing/routine and with more wins, the students and the players might begin to see a lot of each other, in the stands, after the football games at Grimsley, in the future

Grimsley-The Whirlies got on the scoreboard in the 3rd Quarter on a 1-yard run by Brelin Faison-Walden and that run pretty much put the game on ice for Grimsley….The TD run came with 4:10 to play in the 3rd Quarter and with that TD, Grimsley moved in front for the finish, Grimsley 27, Athens Drive 6…..

$$$$$ Pretty good crowd with lots of students on the Grimsley side on this Labor Day Monday night and I would guess there might have been 50 fans that made the trip from Raleigh, to see Athens Drive play Grimsley this evening…..$$$$$
