Elon Men’s Golf Completes Round Two at Golfweek Program Challenge

PAWLEY’S ISLAND, S.C. – William Harwood’s 71 was the highlight of the second day of the Golfweek Program Challenge on Monday, Sept. 12, as the Elon University men’s golf team remains in ninth place out of 16 teams after two rounds at the True Blue Golf Course.

Jacksonville (275-282–557) leads the way at 19-under par and Elon (284-291–575) trails by 18 shots after posting a collective score of three-over par on day two.

HIGHLIGHTS
After making his Phoenix debut in yesterday’s first round, Harwood bounced back from a 2-over par 74 in round one with a one-under 71 scorecard on day two. The Columbia, S.C., native made three birdies on the afternoon and is tied for 39th individually with Jared Mactas, who also has a two round score of 145.

Charlie May moved up as Elon’s highest ranked individual and is tied for 32nd after two rounds. Both May and Mactas carded a second round of 73 (+1) on day two.

Jake Leavitt made massive strides on day two. After carding an 82 on Sunday, Leavitt posted a two-over 74 in round two, improving his first round score by eight strokes. He stands in a tie for 74th individually.

The final round of the Golfweek Program Challenge will take place tomorrow, Sept. 13 at the True Blue Golf Course.
