Women’s Tennis Completes Final Day of the Elon Fall Invitational

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women’s tennis team wrapped up play at the Elon Fall Invitational after the final day of the tournament on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS
Alex Koniaev led the way for the Phoenix with a victory in the finals of the consolation bracket of the Powell Singles draw. She earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Heidi Swope of Appalachian State.

In doubles action, Phoenix duo of Erica Braschi and Kirsten Ward claimed the consolation final in the Gold Doubles draw with an 8-6 win against App State’s Swope and Mullen. Maria Parajaand Natalia Janowicz also earned a consolation title with an 8-2 victory against Zupan and Knors of the Mountaineers.

In addition for the Phoenix, Suzanne Zenoni fell in the finals of the Maroon Singles draw with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 loss to Bridget Harding of Emory. Zenoni and Koniaev fell 8-5 in their doubles match against Harding and Su of the Eagles.

UP NEXT
The Phoenix heads to Winston-Salem, N.C., Sept. 30-Oct. 2, to take part in the Wake Forest Invitational.
