PINEVILLE, N.C. – Guilford College’s Juliana Evans-Anfom scored as the Quakers claimed a Saturday afternoon victory over Johnson and Wales University (N.C.), 1-0, at the OrthoCarolina SportsPlex in Pineville, just outside of Charlotte outside the Johnson and Wales campus.
Evans-Anfom took a feed from Dana Waskiewicz to convert on the Quakers lone goal in the 30th minute, which is Evans-Anfom’s second of the season.
The Quakers out-shot the Wildcats, 13-6, holding an 8-4 advantage after the first half. Gabriela Silva led the Quakers with four shots, all of which were on target. The Quakers also held the edge on corner kicks, 5-0.
Maggie Albert (1-1) made five saves in net for the Quakers. Johnson and Wales’
Kyle Priddy stopped 11 shots.
The Quakers (2-2) return to action Wednesday, hosting John Wesley University for a 4 p.m. contest inside Appenzeller Field at Armfield Athletic Center.
