RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University women’s golf senior Kelsey Badmaev earned her first Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week honor of the season today, Sept. 28, as announced by the league office.
The Blythewood, S.C. native tabbed her fifth-career CAA Golfer of the Week honor after finishing tied for fifth place individually to help Elon to a runner-up finish at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate.
Badmaev claimed the seventh top-five finish of her career, closing the event with a one-under par round of 71 to finish at two-over par (75-72-71–218). Also, the senior led all Lady Pirate Intercollegiate participants in par-four scoring with a mark of two-under par.
The Phoenix will be back in action for the Pinehurst Challenge hosted by College of Charleston from Oct. 10-11 in Pinehurst, N.C.
