College Women’s Swimming News – Guilford Ranked in Preseason ODAC Poll

FOREST, Va. – Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) swimming coaches picked Guilford College ninth in the league’s preseason poll released Friday. Nine-time defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University topped the nine-team poll, receiving 64 points and eight first-place votes.

Quakers coach Ashley Cox begins her first season at Guilford with three letter winners back from last year’s team, which placed tenth in the 2016 ODAC Championships. Guilford returns sophomore freestyle specialists Kate Nunke and Veronica O’Neill. Junior Isabel Gutierrez is back as Guilford’s top freestyle and breaststroke specialist.

Guilford takes to the pool to open its 11th swimming season October 15 at the ODAC Relays at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.

This year’s ODAC Championships are slated for February 10-12, 2014 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
