College Men’s Golf Results- Guilford 11th After 36 Holes at Golfweek D3 Invite

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – Guilford College shot 306 in Tuesday’s second round of the Golfweek D3 Fall Invitational at the Raven Golf Club in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The Quakers dropped to 11th place in the 19-team field with a 36-hole total of 601.

The University of Texas-Tyler shot the day’s low round by 11 strokes, a six-under-par 278, and opened an 18-shot lead over second-place Methodist University (581) and Huntingdon College (581). Rhodes College (584), Concordia University (584) and Illinois Wesleyan University ((584) share fourth place in the team standings.

Texas-Tyler’s D.J. Godoy shot his second straight round of 67 Monday on the par-71, 6,717-yard layout on the Florida panhandle. He had the day’s low round by two strokes and enters Tuesday’s final round with a two-stroke edge over first-round leader Conner O’Neil of Illinois Wesleyan (66-70-136). Emory University’s Chuck Isgar holds third place among the 95 contestants at 68-71-139.

Senior Kendall Dunn had Guilford’s low score Monday, a two-over 73 that moved him into a share of 43rd place with a 36-hole 151. Kell Graham notched his second straight 76 and sits one stroke behind Dunn in 49th place at 152. Guilford’s Ty Palmer, who shot 72 Sunday, fired a 78 Monday and has the Quakers’ best individual ranking (T35) with a score of 150. Josh Hill (152) and Harrison Frye (153) both shot 79 Monday.

Coach Justin Tereshko’s Quakers, ranked eighth in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches’ Poll, wrap up tournament play with 18 holes Tuesday.
