GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bryan Galuski announced the upcoming 2016-2017 men’s basketball schedule Friday.

“It’s hard to believe the new season is already upon us,” Galuski said. “We are all excited and looking forward to starting practice tomorrow.

“Our schedule is extremely challenging and will hopefully give all of us an opportunity to learn, grow, and create positive experiences. This is the best time of the year, and we are ready and committed to making this season a memorable and excellent one.”

The Pride men will open their season Nov. 11 with an exhibition contest against North Carolina A&T State University. This match-up marks the first time the Pride and the Aggies have squared off since November 2013.

“With many newcomers to the program, we will certainly be tested early against a Division I team like N.C. A&T,” Galuski added.

Four days later, Greensboro will travel down Gate City Boulevard to take on cross-town rival Guilford College at 7 p.m. in the Greensboro Coliseum.

After their showdown with the Quakers, the Pride men will host the Wildcats of Randolph College on Mayo C. Harlow Memorial Court to open their home slate at 7 p.m. Nov.22.

Greensboro will then leave the friendly confines of Hanes Gymnasium to take on St. Mary’s College in Maryland. In addition to the game against St. Mary’s, the Pride men’s basketball team will also spend some time touring the Nation’s Capital in Washington, D.C.

Following a home game against Roanoke College on Nov. 29, The Pride will then embark on a three-game road trip with stops at N.C. Wesleyan, where they will take on Shenandoah University and Bob Jones University, before visiting NCAA Division I member Winthrop University Dec. 6.

After hosting Johnson & Wales on Dec. 7, the Pride will hit the road once again for six straight contests.

The Pride will start their journey with a two game swing in New York where they will take on Mt. St. Vincent College and Mt. St. Mary College, while enjoying the sights and history the state has to offer.

Other stops along the road swing include USA South Athletic Conference meetings with Averett University and William Peace University before the team returns to the friendly confines of Hanes Gymnasium on Jan. 13 when the Scots of Maryville College come to town.

Over the course of the final 11 games of the season, the Pride will take on Ferrum College and Methodist University two times each, while facing Covenant College, William Peace University, Averett University, Piedmont College, LaGrange College, and N.C. Wesleyan College one time in conference play.
