Elon’s Badmaev Nears Lead at Palmetto Women’s Golf Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Kelsey Badmaev moved into second place individually and the Elon University women’s golf team is 11th after completing the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 24, at Turtle Point Golf Course.

Badmaev sits at 1-under par through two rounds and is just one shot off the lead, which is held by Coastal Carolina’s Malene Krolboll Hansen.

HIGHLIGHTS
Badmaev, who shot an even-par 72 in the opening round, carded a 1-under par round of 71 on day two and is tied for second with three other players at 143. The senior is seeking her third straight top-10 finish of the fall season.

Heather Munro and Katherine Reilly both improved on their first-round scores on the second day of play. Munro is tied for 43rd and Reilly is tied for 74th.

Aurelia Hamm is one shot behind Munro in a tie for 48th. Hilda Kristjansdottir is tied for 91st with 18 holes to play.

UP NEXT
The final round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by College of Charleston will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Turtle Point Golf Course.
