ARLINGTON, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association released its 2016-17 Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll and complete television schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the league’s annual Media Day in Arlington, Va. In addition, Elon University men’s basketball has announced all game times for the upcoming season.
Sophomore forward Tyler Seibring was named as an honorable mention on the 2016-17 CAA Preseason All-Conference team. Elon as a team was selected eighth in the poll, as the Phoenix enters its third season in the CAA.
Elon is coming off of a 16-16 record, including a 7-11 mark in conference play during the 2015-16 season. The Phoenix welcomes back four starters in senior guard Luke Eddy (10.5 ppg, 4.5 apg), senior forward Christian Hairston (8.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg), junior guard Dmitri Thompson (9.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg), as well as Seibring (9.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg). The team has a total of 14 returning players and welcomes its lone newcomer Seth Fuller (Fr., G, 5-11, 170, Dublin, Ohio) to the fold.
In addition to the preseason prognostications, the CAA announced its full television package for the 2016-17 season. Elon will be on television a total of six times during the year.
