College Cross Country – Women Ninth, Men Tenth at ODAC Championships

BUENA VISTA, Va. – Guilford College’s Sommer Fanney (Burlington, N.C./Williams) claimed second-team All-ODAC honors in Saturday morning’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship, hosted by Washington and Lee University at the Vista Links Golf Club. as the women placed ninth with 233 points and the men tenth with 281 points.

Fanney placed tenth overall with a six-kilomter time of 23:58.8, which stands as the new school record by 22.4 seconds. Fanney was five seconds off of ninth-place as she ran her average mile in 6:25.7 and an average kilometer in 3:59.8.

Kate Jenkins-Sullivan claimed the second-best women’s time, placing 49th, with a finish of 27:00.4. Jenkins-Sullivan ran her average mile in 7:14.4 and her average kilometer in 4:30.1 as she finished three seconds away from 48th.

Caleb Amstutz led the men with a 67th-place finish with an eight-kilomter time of 29:44. Amstutz ran his average mile in 5:59 while running his average kilometer in 3:43.

Colin Dossel and Quint Simones dueled until the finish line as Dossel claimed 72nd with a time of 29:57.9 while Simones came across the finish line at 30:03.8. Dossel finished with an average mile time of 6:01.7 and an average kilometer time of 3:44.7. Simones’s average mile time finished at 6:02.9 while his average kilometer time stood at 3:45.5.
