Friday Night Finish:It’s Going to be quiet for a while now

Last game of the regular season tonight and now all will be quiet on Western and Eastern fronts for two weeks…No more high school football for two weeks….

It will be quiet around here for the next two weeks, but tonight was anything but quiet….

We checked out Southeast Guilford at Dudley and the Dudley Panthers were clicking all cylinders after last week’s loss to Page High School…Dudley looking like they were built for the “Long Run” tonight as the Panthers got running early in this one, with Hendon Hooker handed off to Ezra Perkins from the get-go and Perkins wasted now time going into the end zone and he was followed there by Hendon Hooker and Zariek Rush, as Dudley established the run and the Panthers let the run carry them to their 10th win overall on the season…

Dudley topped Southeast Guilford 55-8 and it looked like for the longest time in this game that Southeast Guilford would not score and the Falcons did not get on the scoreboard until their very last possession of the game and they got into the end zone from three yards away, with Miles Fairley taking the ball in for six and their Fairley carried for the two-point conversion to go along with is touchdown….

Dudley had plenty of help all night long on offense with Hooker, Perkins, Rush and Kayvon Brown going big on offense and Dudley got a super effort on defense from DJ Crossen, Brion Seagraves and a number of other Panthers…

Seagraves had a punt return for a TD and he was gone for around 75 yards and then Crossen crossed the goal line too and Perkins and Hooker found the way to the end zone as well….

Dudley showed no ill effects from some of the injuries that they suffered last week at Page HS….

Dudley also got another solid effort out of their kicker, Kenji Patterson….Kenji the junior kicker was 6-8 on his extra-point kicks and he hit one of his kickoffs extremely well and it landed in the SEG Falcons’ end zone with no return and the ball came out to the SEG Falcons’ 20-yard line….Patterson booted of his extra-point kicks nearly over the top of the Dudley scoreboard and Kenji the Kicker is showing signs of getting stronger, as the season gets longer…

The Dudley Panthers had a point to prove and they were very impressive in the effort and execution tonight/Friday night versus the Southeast Guilford Falcons….We liked the work of Chad Stephens, Ryan Douglas and Miles Fairley for SEG and Jax Hackett had a steady night on defense for the Falcons….Dudley did prove their Panthers’ Point though, as they proved they are back and ready to roll again, heading into the 2016 playoffs after their rare loss last week at Page….
+++++Dudley Panthers’ defensive back Brion Seagraves committed to attend North Carolina Central and play college football for the N.C. Central Eagles prior to the Dudley-SEG game on Friday night….+++++

Let’s look at our picks for the night…..
PICKS
Page
Dudley
Grimsley
East Forsyth
Glenn
Southwest Guilford
Eastern Guilford
Eastern Alamance
Northern Guilford
Western Guilford
High Point Andrews
High Point Christian
Walkertown
Looks like 13-13 on our picks for this week….Sort of surprised about how bad East Forsyth beat Northwest Guilford, but once the East Forsyth Eagles got rolling, there was no shortage of success for them tonight/Friday(Christian Beal with 6 TD’s for EF)….If that score has held up, Grimsley past Smith 10-8 looks like that game was for real….Eastern Guilford now (11-0) after their win on Friday and it appears that there will be no slowing down for Coach Rob and his Wildcats…Should put in a “Lockdown” for Doug Robertson(Eastern Guilford High School) as the Guilford County High School Football Coach of the Year?????

The Southwest Guilford Cowboys had lost 4 straight games before they got that bounce-back win/victory tonight over the Bison from High Point Central….Good to see SWG winning again and look for them to be a ‘tough out’ in the playoffs….

There is NO stopping the Page Pirates and they got a shutout victory this evening with a 48-0 thrashing of the Patriots, from Southern Alamance….Page is making a nice run toward the NCHSAA 4-AA playoffs this day…Have been reading about the Northern Guilford Nighthawks lately??? The Nighthawks seemed to found their late-season stride on this Friday/Saturday/Playoff Huddle Day and Page will be on the lookout for Matthews Butler, Mallard Creek, Charlotte Vance and other challengers that might be laying out there in and around the bushes….

Here is what our poll looked before all of the Big Games that were played on Saturday and be sure to keep an eye out for the Poll Jumpers….Poll records will now show the Teams’ new record and how to keep fit and not go crazy while out in front of the facility….
