Elon’s Karle Selected CAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Senior middle blocker Ally Karle was tabbed the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 14.

This is the second Defensive Player of the Week award this season for Karle after the Flanders, N.J., native led the Phoenix with 18 total blocks during its three matches last week. Karle averaged 1.38 blocks per set and averaged no fewer than one block per set last week for the Phoenix.

She recorded eight blocks last Friday, Nov. 11, against Hofstra to move into the program’s top-five career list in total blocks. She followed with seven more total blocks versus Northeastern on Sunday, Nov. 13, as the Phoenix earned a five-set victory over the Huskies on Senior Day.

Karle concluded the season with 390 career total blocks and 120 this season, which is third all-time on the program’s single-season list.
