College Women’s Basketball News – Guilford’s Anais Weatherly named ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Guilford College’s Anais Weatherly (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) collected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Award Monday. The senior is the first Quaker so honored this year. The announcement marks the third weekly honor of her career.

Weatherly, a 5-11 forward, averaged 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 6.0 steals per game in the Quakers’ 3-0 week. She hit for a season- and team-high 22 points in an ODAC win over Bridgewater College December 3. She narrowly missed a triple-double in the contest with a game-best 11 boards and career-high nine steals, second-most in school history. Weatherly made eight-of-10 field goals, dished out five assists, and made five steals in the Quakers’ road win over N.C. Wesleyan College November 29. She has moved into 13th place among Guilford’s career scorers (1095 points) and second among the Quakers’ all-time steal leaders (247 steals).

Through seven games, Weatherly leads the Quakers in scoring (17.1 ppg.), rebounding (7.9 rpg.), assists (4.4 apg.) and steals (6.0 spg.). She tops the ODAC with four double-doubles, the 10th-highest total in NCAA Division III. Weatherly tops Division III with 6.0 steals per game. She stands fourth among ODAC scoring leaders and is sixth in rebounding.

Coach Stephanie Flamini’s Quakers (7-0, 2-0 ODAC) host William Peace University Monday in a nonconference game. Guilford is off to the best start in school history.
