*****A late one here from last night:Northwest Guilford girls 53, Southeast Guilford 45 OT*****
+++++A big one here with Southwest Guilford boys 70, West Forsyth 66…See more below our NG-Page recap…+++++See Game Report…
Final in Girls High School Basketball and more to along with this one on the way, but Elissa Cunane was very in the lane and around the basket tonight, as the Northern Guilford Nighthawks topped Page 59-43, at NG…Elissa hit her first 12 free throws and ended up shooting 14-17 from the free throw line and Andy’s memory is still working, she was 15-17 at the line when Northern went over to Page on a Tuesday night last year…Cunane does not go insane, Elissa plays a quality game and Page battled well, well through the first half tonight, but when you have a Cunane, you just jump on that train and ride it out and then 9 1/2 times out of ten, you will come out with the win…
Time to do it again and that final score was,
Northern Guilford girls 59, Page 43…
NG now (5-0) and Page(3-2)…NG scoring goes:Cunane 38, Sammi Furlough 8, Mercedes Wampler 5, Janelle Henderson 4, Kelli Lomax 3 and Jayla Harris 1 point…Page scoring:Reagan Kargo 14, Ava Casper 11, Amari Jackson 10, Jillian Heard 4, Jersey Harris 2 and Celeste Brown 2…
End of 1st Q:NG 19, Page 12…Halftime:NG 29, Page 26…End of 3rd Q:NG 54, Page 37…Final:NG 59, Page 43…

  • scores? said,

No final on SEG vs NWG girls? NWG girls used to be great about sending in scores, what happened?

Also, Liz Kitley drops 24 on page and now Cunane 38? Is page that undersized??

  • NW Fan said,

NW girls over SE girls 53-45 in OT last night, late finish to this one.

  • Andy Durham said,

Page does not have much size at all in the middle…Pirates without Emma Heard last night and she gives them help inside, but she can shoot good outside…Heard out with head injury suffered in NWG game…Page kept it within three points in the first half and were helped by some steady outside shots from Reagan Kargo and Avas Casper and Amari Jackson did a good job on penetration, but not having a bigger body in there to combat Cunane can cause you some pain…

Mot many teams will be able to neutralize Elissa Cunane this year….At least not from around here…
