NORTHWEST GUILFORD 95, NPIRE NORTH 31
GAME NOTES:
–With thoughts of revenge stemming from Friday’s blowout, a second Australian team was deployed into the intimidating Roger Nelson Gymnasium. Any hopes and desires were immediately extinguished by the mighty Vikings as they displayed a bit of international flavor themselves.
With PG Jalen Spicer leading the Viking attack in sharing the ball, Northwest amassed 30 assists on 42 made field goals. Reggie Davis had several rim-rocking dunks, and junior sharp-shooter Tommy Smith found his range from the 3-pt. line. Overall Northwest’s display of team basketball was so picturesque it was as beautiful as a furry Koala sitting atop an Australian exotic mountainside. In the end, the Vikings of Northwest dismantled the Npire North fighting Phoenix by a final score of 95-31.
–Northwest Guilford was led by David Funderburg with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Tre Turner had a yeoman’s effort with a baker’s dozen accompanied by 6 boards and 4 dimes. Reggie Davis scored an even dozen points. Matt Rakes poured in 10 points with 3 steals.
Jalen Spicer had an amazing 10 assists to go along with 4 steals. Freshman Christian Hampton had 9 points, 7 boards and 3 steals. Cagy senior Kyle Sullivan contributed 8 points and 4 rebounds.
–NPire North was led by Sam Negri and Max Norton each scored 8.
