Game Report on Southwest Guilford-High Point Andrews Boys Basketball:Kameron Langley, Keyshaun Langley and Christian Martin help Cowboys topple the Totem Pole

Southwest Guilford 82, High Point Andrews 49

The Cowboys took the short trip over to face off against city rival High Point Andrews. The Cowboys have dominated this city clash, winning the last 12 straight dating back to December of 2010. The Cowboys were looking to keep the winning tradition going, coming off a convincing victory over Dudley. The Red Raiders were looking to bounce back after a home blowout loss to High Point Central.

Despite coming into tonight without 3 of their top players, the Cowboys were confident that the rest of the lineup could step up.

The game opened up as an ugly, sloppy mess. The teams traded baskets as well as poor possessions. A made free- throw gave the Cowboys a 4-3 lead at the 5:40 mark. This was the lead that the Cowboys took for good on the night. From there, Southwest began to pull ahead until the opening quarter closed at 23-12.

The second quarter began to look like typical Cowboys basketball as the pressure and up tempo wore on the Red Raiders. The margin quickly ballooned until the opening half closed at 49-19.

The second half was a mimic of the opening minutes of the game, sloppy, poor decisions and bad possessions. Miscues on both sides of the ball were abound as the bench for the Cowboys struggled to find a rhythm, fortunately the clock ran and it ended quickly. The third quarter ended at 73-38.

With the clock running, the final frame was over fast, and the Cowboys ran away with this one at 82-48.

The Red Raiders were led by Roland Perdue with 13. The Cowboys were paced by Keyshaun Langley with (27, 4 Asts, 2 Rebs, 2 Stls), Kameron Langley with (17, 6 Rebs, 5 Stls, 4 Asts), and Christian Martin with (17, 6 Rebs, 3 Asts, 2 Stls).

Southwest moves to 6-1 on the season and will play Page at home on Friday night.
