Elon Men’s Tennis Adds Kyle Frankel for 2017-18 Season

ELON, N.C. – Elon University head men’s tennis coach Michael Leonard has announced the signing of Kyle Frankel (Oranjestad, Aruba) for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

“Cesar [Vargas] and I are very excited about Kyle joining our team next fall,” said coach Leonard. “We feel he has tremendous potential to help us both in singles and doubles. Kyle’s success on and off the court will make him an ideal fit for our program.”

Frankel has experienced a lot of success at the junior tennis level. Highlighting some of his junior level achievements, Frankel won the 2016 TIHTA Aruba G4 ITF Championship not losing a set and also won the doubles championship. In addition, he claimed the 2016 Jamaica ITF Championship. Frankel also claimed doubles championships at the 2015 TIHTA Aruba and the Trinidad ITF G4 championships.

Frankel attended high school at Montverde Academy in Florida under the direction of head coach Jamie Oncins. While competing at the high school ranks, Frankel reached the finals of the state championships, was named team MVP for the 2015-16 season. He was also an honor roll student at Montverde Academy.
