Eastern Guilford’s 2016 football team is making history!

This year’s undefeated JV football team are conference champs! In addition, this year’s varsity team is also undefeated with a record of 15-0 in regular season and post season playoffs!

This Saturday, 12/17/16, the Eastern Guilford Varsity Wildcats will face the Weddington Warriors from Matthews, NC to compete for the NC 3AA State Championship. Game time is 3:05 at Wake Forest University’s BB&T Field in Winston Salem. WAY TO GO WILDCATS!!

These dedicated players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members and student pep club need our community’s support!! Here are several opportunities for you to support the Wildcats, now and going forward:

1) Get advance tickets to Saturday’s NC 3AA State Championship game for $9 in the front office at EGHS Thurs and Fri this week. Call (336)449-6311 with questions.

2) Drop off canned food at the school or at the game and help EGHS win money for our athletics program!

UnitedHealthcare and area food banks will be on hand to collect non-perishable food items prior to each game.
The school that donates the most food will win a $500 cash award from UnitedHealthcare and the NCHSAA.

3) Get a group together and join us for a “Champion Send-Off” – find a safe place to gather along Bethel Church Rd (from EGHS to Sedalia Rd), or Sedalia Rd, or Hwy 70 to Rock Creek Dairy Rd on Saturday12/17 from 11:45 – 12:15 to cheer as our team buses and Wildcat Crazies head out “to the ‘SHIP”! Bring posters, pompoms, balloons and wear school colors: royal blue and gold!

4) Watch the BIG game on Time Warner Cable – Sports Channel 324, kickoff time at 3:05
