Boys Third Place Game:
Southeast Guilford Falcons 81, Graham Red Devils 68

In the Girls Championship Game, Eastern Guilford was in it until the very end and the score was Panther Creek 56 and Eastern Guilford 55 with 11.1 and the EG Wildcats had the ball and with possession, they called a timeout they didn’t have and got hit for two technical free throws and then after EG scored for a two point basket, they called another timeout that they didn’t have and gave the ball back to Panther Creek hoping PC would miss a free throw or two and then the Wildcats could get at steal on the inbounds play since PC would get the ball after the two free throws and the timeouts were the only way EG could a real shot at getting the ball back and it would stop the clock too and after EG called the first timeout that they didn’t have, they figured why not, we may as well call another one too, this is our only chance….EG ran out of chances, but boy the Lady ‘Cats played good and they had a good chance to win until the very end….

Jasmin Harris was the big leader for the Eastern Guilford Lady ‘Cats with 30 big points…Harris had strong game in the middle for EG and she has come a real long way since last season the sky should be the limit for this young lady this season…Eastern also got 9 points from Ashley Godley and 6 points from Kassidy Crosby…EG goes with 5 points from Destiny McLean, plus 2 points each from Destinee Davis and Brianna Wright and Camera Petty chipped in one point for the Lady ‘Cats…

Jasmin Harris from Eastern Guilford was named to the All-Tournament Team and Kalaya Hall from Panther Creek was the Tournament Most Valuable Player…Kalaya Hall, a sophomore, had 31 points for Panther Creek in the Championship Game…Gabby Rogers added 13 points for the Catamounts and Kennedy Heath put in 10 points for the Catamounts…
Game Call:End of 1st Q:Panther Creek 13, EG 8…Halftime:Panther Creek 32, EG 20…End of 3rd Q:Panther Creek 46, EG 35….EG made that run and was within one point of the Panther Creek Catamounts with just 11.1 seconds remaining and EG had the ball and EG was just that close in this ball game…Good ‘Cats and way to battle back and make this a true Championship Battle…..

In the boy’s Championship game, Eastern Guilford ran out to a 13-0 lead to open the contest and at the end of the first quarter, EG lead Orange 22-12 and the ‘Cats were sitting on what appeared to be a comfortable 10-point lead…By halftime Orange had taken a one-point lead of 35-34…At the end of the third quarter Orange was still clinging to a 50-49 lead over Eastern Guilford, but the end of the night and padded by a run of 15-0 Orange to open the 4th quarter and that was one powerful blow on that 15-zip run and the Orange Panthers were not looking back and they went to win this game, by 14 big points, 74-60…That run by Orange to being that 4th quarter was a shot that EG could not rebound back from…

The Orange Panthers were led by their Co-Captains Conner Crabtree with 27 points and Logan Vosburg with 26 points and Conner Crabtree was name the Tournament Most Valuable Player for the boys….

Jaylen Alston led Eastern Guilford with 24 points and he was named to the All-Tournament Team along with Montez Venable from Eastern Guilford, who had 16 points for EG on Friday night…..On Friday Ramal Patterson posted 9 points for the Wildcats, Nic Cheeley had 8 points and Dominique Graves added three points for the ‘Cats…

  1. Both girls and boys games was awesome to watch. Jasmine Harris was a beast down low and PC didn’t have an answer for her. EG got out coached and Jasmine just needed a few more touches and EG would have won easily. Not to take anything from PC because they played very smart. For the boys games EG was up by double digits in the 1st quarter but they slowed the game down and right into Orange High game plan and #5 for Orange put on a clinic. He is an awesome player. UNC Asheville is getting a steal with him. He is major D1 all day long. EG is quick but doesn’t have any shooters so that hurt them if you slow them down and stop the run they are done. Great games tonight.

  2. Conner Crabtree is the truth. Would love seeing him play again. EG didn’t have an answer for his skill level

  3. EG girls and boys would have an even brighter future if some of the young ladies and men stay home and go to the HS. They have some young talent at the middle school who won’t make it to the HS because of being hard workers in the classroom and are able to get into other schools because of the academy. I think both the HS boys and girls have good coaches Jasmine Harris getting D1 looks so she has coaches coming to the school for the boys they have D1 talent but not sure if the coach is helping them out by having coaches come by. I may be wrong I just haven’t heard of any coming by I do know he is a good coach though.
