Clemson 35, Alabama 31
Big win for the ACC which has their home offices located in Greensboro and good win for former Greensboro high school football players Chris Register(Dudley HS) and Diondre Overton(Page HS), who are both members of the National Champion Clemson Tigers football team…..Former Clemson Tiger D.J. Reader(Grimsley High School), who was with the Tigers last year when they fell to Alabama in the Title Game, has to be happy for his Tigers too, as do former Clemson Tigers Joe and Jeff Bostic from Ben L. Smith High School….

Plenty of Greensboro connections with the Clemson Tigers and you may know of a few more….I believe Joe Franks, who used to be over at Grimsley HS and the football field at Grimsley is named for him, pretty sure Joe is a former Clemson man…He used to have his Grimsley car, which I believe was an old station wagon, it was painted and dressed up in Clemson colors for many years…Pretty Rusty Lee, the Athletic Director at Page, his wife is a Clemson Tiger-grad and that makes the Lee household Clemson Tiger fanatics and I’m sure there are many more connections around town and plenty of tight Tiger ties being tossed around town today….

*****Yes as noted, we want to be sure we don’t leave out Jeff “The Judge” Davis from Dudley High School, who has seen many a good day on the sidelines for the Clemson Tigers and he was quite the contributor on the field from his starting LB spot, back in the day.*****

+++++Marcus Gilchrist from High Point Andrews HS. Marcus starred at Clemson and now is a current DB for the New York Jets…+++++

@@@@@Edgar Pickett from Central Davidson High School as Clemson alum….Played for the Tigers back in the late 70’s and early 80’s and sure if he is related to Wilson Pickett…@@@@@

Let’s not forget former Dudley and Clemson and Tampa Bay linebacker Jeff Davis who was beside Dabo walking off the field. He’s also the father of Clemsons twin linebackers. Jeff was a member of the last National Champion team.

    Time to line them up…

Let’s bring on and bring out more former Clemson players from our area….

Not quite as close, but wasn’t Perry Tuttle, a wide receiver with Clemson back in the day and was his home stop/home slice, North Davidson, right???

There must be more and time to line them up here….

Yes, Perry Tuttle played at North Davidson..I believe he caught the winning pass from QB Homar Jordan against Nebraska.

Also, you can count Edgar Pickett as Clemson alum..played his high school days at Central Davidson and then with Clemson late 70’s, early 80’s.
