GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College lacrosse teams took part in the One Love Foundation’s Yards for Yeardley Campaign Jan. 28.

“The men’s and women’s lacrosse teams came together this past weekend to participate in the Yards for Yeardley run, which helps bring attention to the fight against domestic violence,” Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Mike Foderaro said. “We wanted to educate our student-athletes on the differences in healthy and unhealthy relationships, and the impact relationship violence has on life.”

The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 after University of Virginia women’s lacrosse player Yeardley Love lost her life from domestic violence.

Since the start of the foundation, teams and organizations from across the country have accumulated 132,729,955 yards run, including the cumulative 100,000 yards the Pride student-athletes completed.

“The feeling of teaming up with the men’s program, running for a very important cause was very impactful,” senior women’s lacrosse player Devan Macheras said. “Just to see everyone sprinting and not complaining was awesome, as we were running for something greater.

“Yards for Yeardley will be in our hearts forever.”
