Tonight’s basketball games at Western Guilford were the last regular season games to be played in the WG Gym…The WG Gym opened on December 6, 1968 with first-ever regular season game and the last-ever regular season game comes tonight, February 10, 2016 and that covers 49 years of basketball games in the WG Gym…There will be post-season games in the old gym, but the new gym will open for the Hornet basketball teams to use, next August, 2016…
Say, “SO LONG”, to the old Western Guilford Gymnasium, it is pretty much GONE…..Walked into that gym for the first time back in 1972 and I walked out of there tonight, after the last game ever(and they were selling commemorative shirts for $10.00 and at the end of the night, I kept on walking….

East Forsyth	6	5	14	10	35
NGHS 25	15	10	8	58

+++++More to follow….So far a very good night for the Guilford County teams…Looks like 5-5 so far for the GCS…+++++…Now 6-6 for Guilford County as I post these scores….Now 7-7 on the scoreboard for GCS….At 8-8 on the board and GCS still rolling in here….Now we are 9-9….Guess what Guilford County is now 10-10 with the SG Boys win at North Forsyth and that was the one I was worrying about….Garren Dearman with 25 points for SG Storm, in what was a huge win for a Guilford County team, crossing over into Forsyth County….
With the NWG girls winning tonight/Friday, that makes our Guilford County Schools 11-11 and that’s 11 for 11 and like (11-0) on Friday night for the GCS…..
